Colin Barnett, showing his inability to let go

Colin Barnett can’t help himself from showing his true colours.  He and Tony Abbott have one thing in common, they should go and live in England.  The only premier not to want a Republic, the only Premier to show where his loyalty lies; outside of Australia.  Of course the usual rhetoric from the Tea Party is that it would give too much power to one person.  Well, it seems a Premier has too much power already if that is the case, might as well add to it.

Will WA Liberals sell out public assets using carrot made from public money?

When you think about it, public assets that have been created through public funding and now the Federal Government are aiming to sell everything, based on Liberal policy disguised as paying off debts.  A disguise that Australian’s don’t care to question, which can be argued so simply by even a 10 year old. Colin Barnett and James Packer – the big deal

I don’t have anything against Mr James Packer, well maybe I should but he isn’t on the radar primarily in this point in time, he is doing what every business man is doing, trying to obtain opportunities to improve the profitability of his company.  Primarily as long as it is not going to cause damage to the environment or affect fair political activity (like R Murdoch has along with certain individuals in Austereo) or other issues I hold important.  But then again like all gambling industries they have no serious interest in protecting the  gamblingholics, no social empathy.  In essence it’s the job of the government to sort that out like they have done with cigarettes, alcohol and the wearing of helmets on bicycles.

Colin Barnett must sack Troy Buswell

The West Australian reported that the embarrassing Troy Buswell was suspected of being involved in a DUI accident which explains his disappearance from his job.  We all know that Troy has some alcohol issues, the problem is Colin, doesn’t, well maybe he does now except for one thing, Colin took over Troy’s portfolio and clearly knew what had gone down.  The issue I have is there are many with this Liberal government, they persist in protecting the unprotectable and persist in lying and deceiving the public.

Serco faces $200k fine for escape

You know, I sometimes wonder why the cost to the public purse isn’t also added on top of the fine.   It took over 100 officers to hunt the criminals and yet the cost of those men and resources have not been taken into account.   It seems to me the state government are lacking the balls to force SERCO to do things right, but rather allow SERCO to use their insurance to cover the costs.

Colin Barnett and political spin to throw at teachers

When you see a deliberate attempt to convince voters that the “villain” is selfish, you have to wonder, are the public that ignorant to believe it?  Or, would it be a case that if you are a Liberal voter, you would jump on the bandwagon more readily in support of Colin?   This is where the question of when a politician says that newspapers can say what they like because people know what the agenda of the paper is about?  Then why would newspapers splash horrendous comments about a politician or party? It’s simple, mud sticks and it does, even when that mud stinks.

Colin Barnett and the lies on transparency

“It has been a constant priority of this government to move to restore integrity and to promote fair, open and accountable government.”

But then Premier Colin Barnett today said the Government would review the decision and “take whatever steps are necessary”.

Today I read that a number of residents had won the right to view secret documents over the development of the Packer Casino.  Hiding behind the cloak of business discussions thatcannot be made public is a pathetic attempt at keeping people in the dark.  I hope the victory for the residents brings about a change in government transparency, a real transparency.  It should be deemed necessary that Labor and Liberal State governments make it known that any corporation wishes to deal with the state government have to accept all agreements to be made publically available including the draft and meetings.

Biosecurity, why we are kept in the dark

The relationship between coprporations and government is at times very questionable, no more so when the government at the time are the Liberals.  Just as it is an issue with unions and Labor, there is a select few with a direct ear to the political party.

Decades ago we were self sufficient, we were able to grow as much as we needed and export whatever was left over.  Now, due to decades of corporate greed and pressure on successive Labor and Liberal governments we have to import most of what we need.

So, now we have such severe cut backs in one of the worlds most profitable states and for what?

“Agriculture Minister Ken Baston could not be contacted.’  Why am I not suprised?!

Kim Hames Versus Troy Buswell

Colin Barnett accepted Kim’s explanation that claiming $1,000 for expenses was done in error and yet removed Kim from his portfolio.

Colin Barnett goes on to say “”When you hold public office, the standards are high. They were innocent mistakes, but not excusable mistakes,”

Now, maybe your views are different to mine but being fired for one collective mistake for a mere $1,000 is worse than  the vile activities by Troy Buswell?

But we know what happens to you when you sit on the back bench out of public view for a while, you get to sit on the front bench again.  So, Kim, don’t worry, it’s just a political ploy to muzzle the opposition and keep the whining public and media quiet.  You will be back in a top spot again soon, real soon.
